“Dear God” adalah lagu penutup yang emosional dari album Avenged Sevenfold (2007). Lagu ini sangat berbeda dari gaya musik heavy metal khas mereka, menonjolkan nuansa country rock/ballad yang mendalam.

Vokalis M. Shadows menyanyikan lirik yang melankolis, ditulis oleh Synyster Gates (gitaris) dan The Rev (drummer). Liriknya menggambarkan kerinduan dan kesepian seorang musisi yang terus-menerus bepergian jauh dari orang yang dicintai.

Hebatnya, vokalis wanita yang mengisi suara latar adalah Shanna Crooks, bukan bagian dari band. Lagu ini membuktikan keahlian A7X dalam genre yang lebih lembut.
